The Psalms and Jesus

I am passionate about gospel-centered ministry and interpretation. Perhaps Luke 24:27 has influenced me recently more than any other verse. After Jesus’ resurrection, he is walking to Emmaus with two disciples. They are depressed because Jesus has died and they thought he was the Messiah. Jesus snaps them out of their depression and tells them that the whole Old Testament is about him. Luke writes, “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself” (24:27). Morning Prayer

Here is a prayer I wrote that I will start to pray each morning to remind myself of the gospel.  It is a prayer that I’m sure will change slightly over time and it is not meant as a “be all, end all” prayer. It is also not meant to produce “religious gibberish” that is merely repeated with the mouth and not meant in the heart.  It is meant as a template, if you will, so that my mind and heart get into the daily (hourly?) rhythm of confessing Christ as my sole righteousness.
